How to select books for IIT-JEE??

>>First of all, you have to keep in mind, not a single book can be called as good, there is some advantage and disadvantage of that book.
you have to know the special characteristics of that book, so try to read different books and grasp the concept by reading the different topics by different authors.

here are some of the books which will be useful resource for your preparation:-

Chemistry:-

1.O.P Agarwal IITJEE Chemistry

2.Arihant Prakashan Organic Chemistry

3.NCERT Chemistry XI & XII

4.Sienko & Plane Chemistry Principles & Applications

>>For physics books:-
  • 1 H.C. Verma Concepts of Physics Vol I and II
  • 2 I.E. Irodov Problems in General Physics
  • 3 Halliday, Resnick & Walker Fundamentals of Physics
  • 4 Sears and Zemansky University Physics

for mathematics:-
  • 1.R. S. Agarwal Maths XI & XII
  • 2 S.L. Loni Plane Trigonometry Part I
  • 3 S.L. Loni Co-ordinate Geometry
  • 4 Hall & Knight Higher Algebra
  • 5 I.A. Maron Problems in Calculus of One Variable
  • 6 Vectors & 3-D Geometry Arihant Prakashan

Hope this helps!!!

For selecting the books for exam like IIT-JEE i will suggest you not even rely yourself to only confined number of books. There are various topics and for this exam there is a book for each topic.
Thus i will first suggest you to go for Basic Fundamentals concepts though this books.
~A to Z Chemistry of Dinesh Publication.
~ABC Physics by Bharti Publication.
~R.D.Sharma Mathematics.

Apart from these books you should solve all the text questions of NCERT Books of Class XI and XII.

However these are the books which you should referred for preparation are :-
