I'm doing B.E year in Mechanical engineering. Can I apply for the Tnpsc exam. If I can for what post shall I apply. I need the full details about the Tnpsc exam because this is the first time I'm trying for this kind of exam.

yes you can apply for the group-2n exam,but produce the passing certificate at time of main exam

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Applications are invites for Group - I Services Recruitment Examination 2010. The direct recruitment to the following vacancies on 29/01/2010.
1. Deputy Collector (Tamil Nadu Civil Service) : 13 posts
2. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category – I) (Tamil Nadu Police Service) : 08 posts
3. Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies (Tamil Nadu Co-operative Service) : 23 posts
4. Assistant Director of Rural Development Department (Tamil Nadu Panchayat Development Service) : 17 posts
AGE LIMIT: 21-30 years.
Application Fee For Preliminary Examination: Rs. 75/- AND For Main Written Examination: Rs.125/- . No fee from PH candidates. MR application form along with an INFORMATION BROCHURE can be obtained from any one of the HEAD POST OFFICES in Tamil Nadu or from the Head Post Office, Puduchery or from the Post Office of Lalgudi or Virudhachalam or Perambalur on payment of Rs.30/-.

Last date for receipt of applications: 29/01/2010 AND Date of Preliminary Examination : 02/05/2010.

Group-1 consists of mainly executive posts like-executive engineer,deputy collector etc.Since you are an engineer better to apply for engineer's post.

Group-2 consists of post like-junior engineer,municiple commissioner,deputy-megistrate etc.

yes you can apply for the grp 2 exam but you need to producce the passing certificate

as you are doing mechanical engineering,and if you are in final year then you can apply for group II exam.

ya you can apply for upsc group II exams .. if you are in final sem means it is very easy to produce marksheet whenever asked for

yes you can apply for the group 2,

but you have to submit the original passing certificate at the time of the joining.

and so prepare well for the exam, and give the better results.

For writing the group 2 exam you should have completed atleast any one degree otherwise it is not possible.

Group 2 exam contains some higher position government jobs than the group 1 exam.

Writing group 2 is not so easy since group 1 is a great difficult one.

For writing Group 2 you should know about the world history also rather than indian history.

So you have to develop your knowledge to that much level then only it is easy for you.

So first complete your studies and then prepare for the group 2 exam and then write.

Some times it is better to write group 1 first before writing the group 2 exam.

depty suprent of police(DSP) is one of the post in the tnpsc group exam

yes BE final year students can apply for the group-2 exams even they can apply for the group-1 exm also....

Group-2 mainly conteins the following posts:

junior engineer,

deputy-megistrate,

municiple commissioner,etc.
