Re: Can a Biomedical Engineer apply for IES Exam?
No the same is not possible. For appearing in IES exam, you must have completed B.E or B.Tech in any branch from a recognized university. Those who are appearing for final semester exam are also eligible to apply for the exam. But, they should submit the degree certificates at the time of recruitment. The candidates who have completed M.Sc degree or equivalent in Electronics/Wireless Communications/Radio Engineering/Radio Physics can also apply for the exam. The age limit for the exam is 21-30 years.

Re: Can a Biomedical Engineer apply for IES Exam?
yes, you can give Indian Engineering service exam. According to UPSC rules, all engineering graduates ( irrespective of their discipline) can apply for IES exam, but they have to choose one of the four streams in which UPSC conducts this exam, such as civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & communication.
Thus you can apply as a biomedical Engineer itself, but you have choose ECE as the option in which you are going to appear for the exam. refer upsc.gov.in for more details. |
