Biomedical Engineer - How to become a Biomedical Engineer?
Applying the theories and techniques of Engineering in the field of Medicine is known as Biomedical Engineering. Biomedical Engineering is a combination of Medicine and Engineering to improve the healthcare of individuals. Those who practice biomedical engineering are called Biomedical Engineers. There are numerous institutions in India and overseas that offers courses in biomedical engineering. Those candidates who have finished their course can find employment in many leading companies in addition to research institutes.
Qualifying Exam
Candidates who wish to go for the course in Biotech Engineering can appear for these exams:
- All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE)
- Joint Entrance Exam (JET)
- Sant Langowal Institute of Engineering and Technology Entrance Test (SLIET)
- Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers Examination (AMIE)
- Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Entrance Exam (IIST)
- State Aptitude Test (SAT)
- National Aptitude Test (NAT)
- State wise entrance Examination
Who is eligible to apply?
Candidates who are applying for the above given exams must have finished their 10+2 class with Science. They should have achieved a minimum of 55% marks in their final exams. Candidates of the SC/ST/OBC categories must score at least 50% marks. B.E graduates are also eligible to apply for the exams.
How to prepare for exam and interview?
Candidates who are applying for the written test must be well prepared in the subject. They can prepare for the exam by going for coaching. They can also get ready by writing mock test papers of the former years. It can be either bought from any book store or downloaded from the internet. As timing is important, candidates who practice on this can time themselves. The candidates can also read newspapers or magazines which has articles based on the topic of Biomedical Engineering. Moreover it is possible for the candidates to consult the previous alumni. When appearing for the interview, the candidates must treat the interview panel with respect. They must also make sure that they are honest in replying. It will also be better if the candidate takes a pause when a question is asked. This will help them to answer more correctly. The candidates must also answer the questions in a direct manner.
