Yeah sure being a Commerce student you are eligible to appear in NDA exam.
NDA exam is conducted twice in a year generally as NDA I & NDA II Exam for the recruitment of candidates in following defence wings as given below..

• Indian Army
• Indian Navy
• Indian Air Force

Being a Commerce candidate you are eligible to join Indian Army wing only.

NDA exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year.


Eligibility for NDA(Indian Army):

You should completed 12th standard in any stream from recognized university board.

12th appearing students are also eligible to appear in this exam.

Your Age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years. Must be an Indian Citizen.

Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to appear for NDA Exam.

You should completed 12th standard Science(PCM) stream from recognized university board.

12th appearing students are also eligible to appear in this exam.

INDIAN AIR FORCE:

the candidate completed the 10+2 with mathematics physics and chemistry from a recognized state board of india.

The candidate age limit should be 16.5 to 19 years.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam.

But the candidate citizen of india.

The candidate should be physically and medically fit for this exam.

the eligibility criteria for nda is:
1. a minimum of 55% in 12th with physics chemistry maths and english.
2. appearing student may also appear in the exams.
3. age must be in between 16.5 years to 19 years.
since you have done your 12th with commerce stream, so you are not eligible for nda.

You can always opt for the NDA entrance test.After or during the +2 tenure, interested candidates need to write NDA Exam for the Army wing of National Defense Academy. Candidates willing to join Indian Army through NDA Exam do not need to have studied Mathematics in the higher secondary level. There will be a compulsory paper of Mathematics in the NDA Exam, conducted by Union Public Service Commission.Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the higher secondary examination and atleast, have 40% in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English. During the time of admission, he should be 17 1/2 years and must not be over 19 years of age.

In case of NDA I exam, it comes out in July-August while NDA II Exam, results are declared between October-November. The SSB interviews will start in the mid-week of January. As far as, exam is concerned, it will 21/2 hours paper of 900 marks. Maths will be 300 marks and general ability is 600 marks.
