i gote 53% in 12th 2012. Can i appear in aieee 2013 and pcm marks is 54%.

My friend , to be eligible for the AIEEE which stands for all India engineering entrance exam you should have a minimum of 50% in 12th (aggregate) class for a general candidate and 40% for reserved category candidates

Well there won't be any AIEEE exam from 2013. In case you have not heard, the Human Resources and Development Ministry has scrapped the AIEEE and IIT-JEE entrance exams and would be conducting a new exam in their place.

ISEET which stands for Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test would be replacing the AIEEE and IIT-JEE entrance exams from 2013. After much differences between IITs and HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal, all the IITs and NIITs have agreed to accept the ISEET entrance exam from next year.

Therefore it does not matter whether you are eligible for AIEEE or not. You would have to be eligible for ISEET. From whatever information which has been given about the ISEET entrance exam, I can tell you that you are eligible for the ISEET entrance exam.

Kindly remember that only central funded universities like NIITs and IITs have agreed to accept the ISEET exam. This does not apply to the individual states. So far only Gujarat has agreed to accept ISEET entrance exam, other states have different opinion. While some have pledge to join the exam after two years, others have some resevations and efforts are being made by the Kapil Sibal to bring these states onboard as well.


Eligibility

1. You would need to complete Class 12th with PCM as subjects.

2. Must score at least 40 percent marks in 12th board.

Although there is no confirmation but it is widely believed that candidates who have completed 12th in 2012 would also be allowed to appear for the ISEET entrance exam.


Exam Pattern

There are two parts of the ISEET entrance exam.

1) ISEET Main

Reading Comprehension & Critical Thinking

Logical Reasoning


2) ISEET Advance

Problem Solving Ability in Basic Science Subjects


Both papers would take place on the same day and candidates would be given 3 hours for each exam.


ISEET Dates:

There is no confirmation about the dates of ISEET exam by the Human Resources and Development Ministry. However it is believed that ISEET Exam would take place in April - May 2013.

The AIEEE Exam is conducted to admit students to some of the top institutions in the country like IIT’s, NIT’s and other state level engineering colleges.


Qualifying Examinations for AIEEE

-Aspirants who have done the 10+2 pattern of exam from the National or State level Board of SE or the two-year program of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense

Academy are eligible.

-Aspirants who have completed the H.S.C. Vocational Examination or Senior Secondary School Examination carried out by the National Open School can also apply for the test. Those who have done the 3 or 4-year polytechnic course certified by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education are also eligible for the exam.


Age Qualification for AIEEE
Aspirants aged between 17 – 25 years can only apply for the AIEEE. There is five years age relaxation for the SC, ST and PH candidates.
