Hi, I am pursuing my final year of B.Tech degree course from Karnataka Open University and now I wish to apply and write the GATE examination for 2021 session. Can I apply? As I heard that only regular candidates are allowed to apply for GATE. Is it true?

Yes, You are eligible to apply for GATE examination because Open University is recognized university by UGC.

There is no criteria of have minimum marks in graduation to be eligible for GATE examination.

From this year even 3rd year students are also eligible for GATE examination.

-Yes, Graduation / Master's degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/
Computer Applications or equivalent.
- Eligible candidate can attend the exam, till he or she obtains a valid score.
-There is no restriction in the number of attempts for GATE.
