The aspirant should have completed Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized university to pursue M.A in English in IGNOU or any other open university. The admission will be done directly; there is no entrance examination for the admission. The course can be done in the following institutions;

- Dr. Ambedkar Open University - Official website
- Annamalai University - Official website

The degree from the regular and full time is valued higher than any Open University degree. The scope for the regular degree holder is higher than a distance degree holder. Many top companies consider only the students from regular studies and not from distance mode. So the regular course is valued higher compared to the distance courses.
