Default Re: Can I do CA after B.Com without honors

CA stands for the Chartered Accountancy. It is one of the most preferred course for candidates belonging to commerce stream after 10+2 and bachelor's degree. Candidates who desire to become Chartered Accountant pursue the different stages of this course:

>>Common Proficiency Test.

>>Integrated Professional Competence Course and Articleship.

>>Final course.

10+2 passed or appearing candidates of any stream from a recognized board is eligible to appear for the CPT exam. The entrance test is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountancy of India twice every year.

It is an objective test consisting of 200 questions from Accountancy, Mercantile law, Economics and Quantitative aptitude. In order to clear this test, you need to clear 30% marks in all these sections and overall 50% aggregate.

However those candidates who have done bachelor's degree in commerce with 55% or more from a recognized university are exempted from giving this exam. They can directly appear for the direct entry scheme of Integrated Professional Competence Course.

So, if your percentage of marks in bachelor's degree is 55% or more, you are eligible for directly second stage of Chartered Accountancy course. Honors is not mandatory or compulsory, you need to fulfill the minimum criteria.

For any more details, you can log on to official website of ICAI that is www.icai.org.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
