Can I do MBBS with PCM subject combination?

I have completed my 12th Board exams this year with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subject combination. Will I be able to get admission in MBBS in any medical colleges with PCM subject combination? I was thinking to do 12th again with PCB subject combination from RBSE Board. Can I do so?

MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and as the name suggests it is professional under graduation degree course of five and a half years.

Further, the minimum education required to pursue MBBS degree course is a Class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects along with English from a recognized board of education. Further, the minimum marks in aggregate in PCB subjects must be at least 50% ( or 40% in case of reserved category candidates).

So, having completed your Class 12th with PCM combination, you are not eligible to pursue MBBS degree course unless you reappear in your Class 12th once again with PCB combination and manage to secure minimum marks mentioned above in your Class 12th.

For more detailed information regarding NEET, you can refer to the link www.ntaneet.nic.in.

MBBS refers to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and to pursue the same degree course the minimum education required is a higher secondary school degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects with 50% marks in aggregate in PCB subjects from a recognised board of education. Marks relaxation of 10% is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category.

So, having completed your Class 12th in PCM combination, you are not eligible to apply for the same course unless you pursue higher secondary school degree course again with required subjects.

You are not eligible to get admission in MBBS course with PCM in 12th.

To get admission in MBBS course, candidates have to appear and qualify in NEET.

The eligibility to appear in the examination is that :-

Candidate must have passed 12th in PCB from a recognised board.

Candidate must have scored minimum 50% in PCB with English as main paper.

The minimum age limit is 17 years.

So, you are not eligible to appear for the examination to get admission in the course.

You are not eligible to appear for NEET, AIIMS MBBS or JIPMER.

So, you are not eligible to get admission in MBBS course. The common eligibility to appear in all the above examination is that candidate must have passed 12th in PCB.

So, you can appear for the examination only after PCB in 12th with minimum 50% aggregate for NEET and 60% for AIIMS MBBS.

You will have to clear the cut off ( qualifying score ) to get admission in the course.

No, the basic eligibility criteria for applying for NEET is that:-

The candidate should have passed 12th with the subject of Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognised board.

And should have also scored minimum of 50% in PCB.

Age limit is between 17years to 25 years.

So with PCM you can't apply.
