Sir, I did my B.Ed in English after completion of BA English. Am I eligible to do PhD in English? Or, do I need to do MA or M.Ed for PhD? Can't I do on the basis for B.Ed only?

After completion of BA and b.Ed you are not eligible to do PHD in English. For PhD in English of minimum eligibility required is masters degree in English with minimum 55% marks.
For taking admission in PHD either you have to pass entrance examination or UGC net. If you have passed UGC NET then you don't need to appear in the entrance examination you are directly eligible for the interview.
After passing entrance examination and with your minimum eligibility score you are eligible for the interview and after your interview merit list will be prepared for the all the students and based on your that performance and reservation of seats you will get admission in PhD English.

You can do PhD after BEd also provided you have a post graduate degree as minimum qualification for PhD is post graduation from a recognized university.
