I am 1st year student in NIT and want to get admission in IITs in 2nd year after cracking JEE Mains/Advance entrance examination. Can I do so? Will I be allowed to take direct 2nd year admission in any of the IITs?

There is no lateral entry in IIT in 2nd year of the course.

So, you are not eligible to get admission in the IIT through lateral entry.

Candidates are eligible to get admission in IIT on the basis of qualifying in IIT JEE.

There is no hope to get admission in IIT in 2nd year after completion of the first year from NIT.

Admission in IIT is possible only on the basis of IIT JEE. Candidates after qualifying in JEE are eligible to get admission in IIT.
