Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET ) is a competitive exam held for the admission of students in various professional degree courses in the field of technology and engineering, various discipline of medicine and several other courses in the state of Karnataka. Hence, if you have scored a rank of 5046 in KCET 2012 then you can certainly get a seat in medical college/university in Karnataka.

However, you must remember that your 10+2 aggregate marks also plays an important part in making you eligible to get a seat. In government colleges the seats are given to students on merit. Hence, you must score 80% or above in class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects to get your name shortlisted during the counseling.
Private colleges will accept your application if you have scored 65% or above, but they charge a huge donation.
