Good decission,

A law passed by parliament and other governing bodies of India has made it mandatory to take UGC-NET in order to persue p.hd. and also for lecturership in govermnment as well as government aided institutes in India.

I think the net exam for 2009 is in the month of december and the not known about the next exam.

it is an exam conducted by the government of india......its better to give this so get an better degree from a recognized institute....so apply for it as soon as posssible

The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 28th June, 2009 (Sunday) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges. UGC will conduct NET in 77 (seventy seven) subjects (listed under item no. 9) at 66 (sixty six) selected University Centres (listed under Item no. 10) spread across the country

this exam is conducted by government of india every year.
this exam is necessary for doing p.hd .and form will be available in nov-dec.

National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by government of India every year.
you must appear in this examination for getting the P.hD. degree from a recognized institution of India.
Forms available in the month of November-December.

You are not eligible for CSIR NET exam because you have to completed your masters degree.

Eligibility for CSIR UGC NET entrance examination:
You Must have a M.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks And the final year Students of M.Sc. are also eligible to appear in CSIR NET exams.

Age Eligibility Criteria -
For Junior Research fellowship – You must be between 19 –28 years of age.
For Lectureship – There is no upper age limit. You should be at least 19 years of age.

The NET examination is conducted by the UGC for Lecturer Ship and Junior Research Fellowship.

The examination held twice in a year in the month of June and December.This year the dates of filling the forms are already over.So you have to wait for the next year.The examination forms will be available probably in the month of March or April.
