Can I pursue for a PhD after being a Junior Research Fellow in universities?

Hi, I have recently completed my B.Tech in Biotechnology. I was just wondering that if I somehow passed the NET exam and gotten the role of a JRF in an Institute, then after completing my JRF can I apply directly for a PhD? And just as a side question, in order to be a JRF should I do a CSIR NET JRF or the UGC NET? What's the difference?

Phil./PhD degree courses after qualifying UGC NET become eligible to receive financial assistance under JRF scheme for 2 years. After the completion of two years as a Junior Research Fellow, the candidate's research work is evaluated by experts

Ph. D. in Education is a 3-5 year course, the minimum eligibility for which is a postgraduate course in Education. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Education/Bachelor in Technology in Education from recognized University.

So, answer is Yes you can apply for P.hd after being a Junior Research Fellow in universities.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
