My son is completing b tech in electronics & communication in 2015. He wants to do mba. He wants to give cat examination. Pl guide us how can he prepare for cat? Presently he is studying from vadodara in gujrat. He has score 87-88% marks in 10/12th. Now in b tech up to 6th semester percentile is 7.5. Kindly guide us which coaching class is best for cat. How much fee for these coaching.

CAT is a very competitive exam. Although this exam is more titlted towards engineers because of many mathematics based questions asked in it.
But engineers generally lag behind in English grammar and comprehension. So, your son has to practice in this area.

Although there are many coaching institutes for CAT even in every state. Two most popular ones are TIME and Career Launcher.
You may find branch of these coaching in Gujarat.

CAT Eligibility Criteria:-

• You need a graduation degree in any discipline of your choice to sit for this examination.
  
• General category candidates needs at least 50% of marks at grad level.
  
• The reserved category candidates gets a 5% relaxation.
  
• This exam can also be given in the final year of college.

Since your child has already over 7.5 percentile after the sixth semester so I dont think securing 50% of marks after the eighth semester wont be too much of an issue for him. Also I believe from seventh semester onwards or much before than that if possible one should start preparing for this examination since a few months of preparation is required and this will only boost his confidence level.
