this is not very good rank so yiu have to check for better. you will get average college.

you have not mention the entrance exam so you have to mention the name of exam.

hey by this rank you can't get top 5 nits but you can apply for other nits.

i give you the list:
1>nit surat
2>nit srinagar
3>nit hamirpur
4>nit durgapur
5>nit silchar

so,i also send you the link you just go through it ....there you can get closing rank and opening rank of each college of nit:
www.ccb.nic.in

and your rank card despach by cbse as soon as you don't worry about that it's come to you after 30 days from the date of decleration of exam.

I must say you have got a pretty good rank in AIEEE.And with this rank,i expect that your state rank will also be within 5000.Hence,you can try your state NIT.Or,you can also go for lower ranked NIT's or new NIT's.you will definitely get one.

Another option for you(only if you are not satisfied by the NIT you get) is to go for some good private college.Some of them are:
THAPAR,PATIALA
DAIICT,GANDHINAGAR
LNMIIT,JAIPUR
JAYPEE,NOIDA
