** No requirement of specific % of marks.

** The age of the candidate must lie in between 21-30 years if the candidate belongs to Open Category.

Default Re: Is a CSE student eligible for IES?

I have received this question from many of the candidates.

They complete their B.Tech course with IT or CSE and they thought that they are not eligible for IES exam as their stream is not listed as one of the Engineering service.

But this is completely wrong.

Irrespective of the stream in B.Tech course, all the candidates who have completed Graduation in Engineering or B.Tech course are eligible to give this Exam.

The candidates who have appeared for final year exams of Graduation and waiting for the results can also apply for this Exam.

If you have completed CSE and want to apply for IES Exam, you can do the same.

IES stands for Indian Engineering Services Exam.

This Exam is being conducted once in a year by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to recruit the candidates into following Engineering Services
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

I suggest you to opt for the Engineering Service that you are interested.

But your preparation should be very high as the entire subject is new for you.

Better to have coaching from a coaching institute which will make your preparation too easy.

Wish you all the best.
