Yes, CSE candidates are eligible for IES.

IES (Indian Engineering Services) conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

Eligibility for UPSC IES exam are as follows: -

1. A candidate must be citizen of India.

2. A candidate in between 21 years to 30 years of age.

3. A candidates must be physically or mentally fit.

4. A candidate passed degree in Engineering from a regonised institute / University.

I don't think you are eligible for IES exam
Because IES exams are conducted by UPSC for the four following courses.

1. Civil
2. Mechanical
3. Electrical
4. Electronics and telecommunication.

I am sorry to say this but CSE courses are not included in IES exam

actually the ies exam is held only for four subjects that are civil engineering,mechanical engineering,electrical engineering and electronics engineering,if you are an graduate engineer or in final year of your engineering and and above 21 and below 30 years of age you can write the exam in any of these four subjects,there is no computers papers

yes CSE students are eligible for IES examination. recently the application submission procedure for IES 2011 is going on. last date to apply is 7th February, 2011. visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.in to get notification and other details.

Absolutely CSE students are eligible for IES examination 20011.

Minimum educational qualification to appear for this exam is to be graduate in any of the stream.

IES i.e Indian Engineering Services is an Exam conducted by upsc Government.

Any Guy Having Engineering Degree with Below Discipline are only Eligiblie.

Category I—Civil Engineering.
Category II—Mecahnical Engineering.
Category III—Electrical Engineering.

BE IT and CSE are not eligible to write IES exams....
IES exams are conducted by UPSC for
four courses:
civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics and telecommunication....

Look I am not sure what you are talking about, whether it is Indian Economic Service or the Engineering Service exam.However, provide information regarding both of them.

Indian Economic Service:

The minimum eligibility for IES is a Post-graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Busines Economics/Econometrics.

Engineering Service:

For Engineering Service, you must have a bachelor's degree in engineering.

As you dont have have any of the above g=degrees, then in that case, you are not eligible for the the exams.

The Indian Engineering Service examination is designated for recruitment of engineering in government services.

Information About IES Exams

In order to appear for the UPSC IES(Indian Engineering Service) exam..the candidates must fulfill the following conditions :-

1) You should be a B.Tech degree holder or in the final year of your B.Tech in any of the following streams

This is because only those students are eligible for the IES Examination who have completed their B.Tech from one of the following streams :

No,a CSE Student is ineligible for writing the IES Exam which is being conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and is held every year.

This is because you are ineligible as per the Education qualification needed for the exam as you are not satisfying the needed education qualification for the exam.

The needed education qualification for the exam is that the candidate appearing for the exam must have completed Degree in B.tech/B.E in :

• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
• Electrical Engineering

As you have mentioned that you are a CSE student it makes you ineligible for appearing for the exam.

So,you are ineligible for applying for the IES Exam
