Can you please tell me the examination date for IAS preliminary in 2013 & also the process for apply in exams.

Indian Administrative Services (IAS) examination is conduct by UPSC once every year .

You can apply online through their official website when UPSC issue notification of Preliminary Examination for IAS.

Every Year Generally Notification of the Preliminary Examination (CSAT) of IAS - Febrary .

After Qualifying the Preliminary examination (csat) candidate is expected to fill the form of main examination .

There are 3 stages in IAS examination which candidate need to clear

• Preliminary Examination
• Main Examination
• Interview

It one of the most competitive selection processes in India.

Minimum Eligibility for IAS

• Bachelor Degree in any Discipline from recognized university
• Basic fitness level
• Age - 21 to 30 years

There is Age relaxation and number of attempts relaxation for other sc/st/obc candidate.

Main Examination Pattern




you have to choose two Subjects for your main examination from below given subject list after qualify the preliminary exam (CSAT)

and one language other than English as it is already there in main examination .

IMPORTANT DATE FOR CIVIL SERVICES EXAM., 2013
Date Of Notification:-02.02.2013
Last date of submission of form:-04.03.2013 (MONDAY)
Date of exam Prelims:-19.05.2013 (SUNDAY)
Date of Mains eXam:- 19.05.2013 (SUNDAY)

You can apply both onle and ofline.

Hi, I have 2 year back so is it worth to try for ias exam or will i not be taken seriously for ias exam in the interview by the board as the people they get for the interview are gems ,toppers in iits and iims.By the way I am doing engineering from a good college.
