Eligibility and Application Procedure for Civil Services Exam 2013
Graduation qualification is essential to submit applications for Civil Services exam. Age limit specified for the applicant is 21-30 years. Applications can be sent online through the official portal of UPSC. It is essential to remit an application fee of Rs 100/- before submitting the online application form. Those candidates who successfully submitted online application will be issued with an e –Admission certificate, 3 weeks ahead of the exam. The tentative date of submitting applications is 4th April, 2013.
Eligibility Criteria for Civil Services Exam 2013
In order to apply for Civil Services exam, candidates must abide by the following eligibility criteria’s –
- It is essential for candidates to hold an Indian citizenship to attend this exam. (This is compulsorily to apply for Indian Police services and Indian Administrative services. For other major services, candidates need to be either a citizen of India / a subject of Nepal or Bhutan)
- The age limit specified for the candidate is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is allowed for those belonging to reserved categories. 5 years age relaxation is given for SC/ST/Defense service personnel and 3 years age relaxation allowed for OBC category candidates. Physically handicapped candidates can have age relaxation up to 10 years.
- Graduation in any specific subject from a government recognized institute is essential to attend this exam. Those who are currently doing final year graduation course are also eligible to attend the preliminary level of this test. But, in order to attempt the main level of civil services exam, it is compulsory to submit the required educational documents.
Application Procedure for Civil Services Exam 2013
Candidates should follow an online application format for civil services exam. Applications can be sent online through the official portal of UPSC. As a first step, candidates need to deposit the application fee amount of Rs 100/-. Fee can be remitted through any of the branches of State Bank of India. It is also possible to deposit application fee through net banking facility of SBI branches or debit/master/Visa cards. Fee exemption is given to SC/ST/PH candidates. After depositing the application fee, candidates can log in to the UPSC site and fill in the online application form. They need to choose a specific center of examination while filling the application form. Those candidates who are able to successfully submit application forms will receive an e-Admission certificate (3 weeks prior to the starting of the examination). The e –Admission certificate send should necessarily contain the roll number, candidate name, registration id, postal address, name and year of examination.

Why should not there be a Physical Standard Cretaria ( AT LEAST hEIGHT & wEIGHT) for IAS too……just un-like IPS & Even a Soldier’s service or a Policeman service….there are Physical Standards ?
