Tamilnadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced for the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO) on 21 July 2010. They considered all the application received on or before 20 August 2010. The details of number of position, pay scale, age limit and qualifications are below.
VAO: 1576 posts in Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service
VAO: 1077 posts (For SC/ST)
Pay Scale: Rs.5,200 – 20,200 + Grade Pay Rs.2,000/- P.M
Age Limit: 21 to 30 years
Qualification: Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) to College Courses of studies.

Lets come to the point on exam date. When is the exam? This is what everyone is looking now. Let me tell you.
More than 13 lacs applications were received and currently they are feeding all the information into the computer. As they did not announce the exam date till now, all the applicants are confused now and they are not able to concentrate on the exam preparation also. Applicants are keep calling TNPSC and asking for the date.
Important Dates for TNPSC VAO exams 2011
TNPSC VAO Exam has been scheduled for 27th February, 2011 with additional 831 vacancies.
The total number of vacancies is 3484.
Applications are accepted upto 28th December, 2010.
Last date to apply online 26th December,2010
Date of Written Examination: 27th February 2011
Time of Written Examination: 10: 00 AM to 01:00 PM
