Re: Details about CA entrance exam?
Hello,
Well CA is really a good choice. But it is difficult to complete it within the stipulated time. So for that you have to study really hard. Besides this the CPT or common proficiency test is another examination that you need to prepare for. This is the entrance examination for CA or chartered accountancy. Normally I suggest graduate people and that too in B.Com to go for this. But if you have 60% in your 12th standard examination, only, you can apply for CA. But after 12th your maturity level is not that much which can cope up with the professional level examinations of CA. So after you complete B.Com, your maturity and understanding level increases and thus you can go for the CA course in a much smoother way. Anyways the CPT course is a 200 marks test. You have Mercantile laws, General economics, Accounts and aptitude in the test. The questions are objective. So you can get negative marking for wrong answers. So study hard and answer carefully. |

The course is divided in three stages:- 1.Common Proficiency Test. 2.IPCC. 3.Final Common Proficiency Test (CPT) This is the entrance test for CA course. This test is conducted twice in a year i.e, in the month of June and December. The test is of 200 Marks which is of 4 years duration. The subjects asked in this test are:- 1.General Accountancy. 2.General Economics. 3.Merchantile Law. 4.Quantitative Aptitude. After qualifying this test, you can start preparing for IPCC. Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) This is the second stage of CA course. To be eligible to appear in this exam, you need to qualify CPT or you need to complete your graduation with 55% from Commerce stream or with 60% from non-commerce stream. This stage is divided into two groups-Group I and Group II. The subjects in Group I are:- 1.Taxation. 2.Cost Accountancy and Financial Management. 3.Accountancy. 4.Business Laws,Ethics and Communication. While Group II consists of the following subjects:- 1.Advanced Accounting. 2.Auditing and Assurance. 3.Information Technology and Strategic Management. You can appear in both the stages at once or you can appear one by one. You need to score 40% in each subject and 50% in aggregate to qualfily IPCC. This exam is also conducted twice in a year i.e, in the month of May and November. After qualifying Group I or both the group, you have to do articleship of 3 and half years under a registered CA. After your articleship, you can appear in the final exam of CA course which consists of 8 subjects. I hope you found the information useful. Thanks and Best of luck. With Regards- Vikas. |

Re: Details about CA entrance exam?
You can apply for the Chartered Accountancy course after finishing 12th. It does not matter what subjects you had taken in the 12th standard.
The first step is Common Proficiency Test which you can consider as entrance exam to get the admission. Although you can register for the CPT after completing 10th standard but can not appear for it unless you have completed 12th standard. There are two groups in the Common Proficiency Test. Each group has 2 subjects in it. You must score 30 percent marks in each group to clear the Common Proficiency Test. The four subjects for the Common Proficiency Test are: 1. Fundamentals of Accountancy 2. Economics 3. Mercantile Law 4. Quantitative Aptitude However if you have completed graduation then it is not always necessary to appear for the Common Proficiency Test. There is a way to get exemption from appearing for the test and take direct admission in the IPCC. Exemption Criteria ## At least 55 percent marks in commerce graduation. ## Minimum of 60 percent marks in non commerce graduation. This way you will take direct admission for the IPCC course and Articleship along with it. You will complete 9 months of articleship and then appear for the first group of entrance exam for IPCC. During the articleship you will also complete 2 group of entrance exam. You should know that the duration of articleship is 3 years and it is mandatory. To appear for the Final Examination it is important that you have completed 30 months of articleship. |
