Re: Difference between Cabinet Mission and Cripps Mission?
Cripps Mission
- It came in India in 1942 to seek India's support for British in World War II. - The main proposal of this mission is to give India liberty to frame its own constitution if it accedes to the British's proposals . - No transfer of real power. - It rejected by every community owing to varied reasons and it was a failure in toto. Cabinet Mission - It came in India in 1946. - It proposed an undivided India and an interim government for India. - It proposed formation of constituent assemblies all over India. - It gives India an independent status with real transfers of power. - It was accepted by all communities. |

Quote:
Cripps Mission was an attempt in late March 1942 by the British Government to secure full Indian Cooperation and support for their efforts in World War II. The mission was led by Sir Stafford Cripps and that is why the name has been kept as the Cripps mission, because it was his idea that came in his mind and everybody agreed to his idea. |
