Re: Eligibility for AIIMS, AFMC and NEET 2017
NEET, AIIMS and AFMC stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, All India Institute of Medical Science and Armed Forces Medical Colleges respectively.
NEET is held for selection of students for their admission in undergraduate medical courses in government medical colleges including AFMC where as AIIMS MBBS entrance examinations are held for selection of students for their MBBS course from AIIMS only. --> As far as you are concerned about the eligibility for appearing in NEET and AIIMS MBBS Entrance examination, then it is as mentioned below :- * You must have the nationality of India with your lying within 17 years to 25 years ( age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for reserved category candidates ) for appearing in the both these examinations. * You must have completed your Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as your main subjects from a recognized board. Also the overall aggregate in mentioned subjects must be at least 50% for NEET where as it must be above 60% in case of AIIMS MBBS entrance examination. Further relaxation of upto 10% are provided to reserved category candidates. So having managed 59 marks in both Physics and Chemistry along with 69 marks in Biology i.e; 187 marks overall you are eligible for appearing in both these examination on the basis of your educational qualifications. Re: Eligibility for AIIMS, AFMC and NEET 2017
AIIMS conducts its own entrance exam other National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. One common criteria for both entrance exam is that you must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 12th from a recognized board. Percentage criteria for both exam differs.
1. For AIIMS exam, general and OBC candidate must have at least aggregate of 60% in PCB and English. For SC/ST candidates, it is 50%. 2. For NEET exam, it is 50% for general and OBC candidates and for SC/ST candidates, it is 45%. AFMC is under NEET. You can apply for both exams if you meet both criteria. Minimum age limit for both exam is 17 years. |
