Re: Eligibility to study BEd for a candidate with 50% in Honours papers and 49.8% aggregate in BCom?
B.Ed stands for Bachelor of Education. This is a mandatory course for candidates who want to become teachers of Government or Govt. Sponsored schools.
Eligibility Criteria to Pursue B.Ed course: The minimum qualification required for entry into B.Ed. course is Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from a recognised board/university with at least 50% marks. *** As you have passed B.Com course with 49.8% marks, I can't say that you will get admission in B.Ed course or not because it's totally depended to the college. 49.8% marks in B.Com course is low than the usual eligibility criteria. So, many colleges may not give admission to you. Though, some private colleges may give you admission. List of B.Ed Colleges: >> Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, Punjab(Official Website Link) >> Christ University, Bangalore(Official Website Link) >> SRM University, Kanchipuram, Andhra Pradesh(Official Website Link) >> Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh(Official Website Link) >> Gujarat University, Ahmedabad(Official Website Link) |

If your overall percentage is 49.80% then you are not eligible to pursue B.Ed being a general candidate. As because minimum percentage criteria for general candidate should be at least 50%.
But if you are under reservation category then you are eligible. There are 5% relaxation in minimum percentage criteria. |
