I have passed 10th standard with 90%. Which exam to write to go in Navy? I am 17 years old now. I am eligible to apply and crack any entrance exam conducted for joining Navy? If not, then what should I do to join Navy?

you can apply for NDA (common test for indian army ,indian air force, indian navy) after completion of grade 12 or appearing for the grade 12.

you can even opt for CDS (common test for army,air force ,navy)but you to complete your graduation

there is a special test conducted by Indian navy called INET (INDIAN NAVY ENTRANCE TEST) For this too you need graduation degree.

INET JAN 2020 SESSION OVER,JUNE SESSION NOT YET DECLARED.you will be having INET followed by SSB and then medical test.

There is no entrance to get into Navy after 10th. But Navy will conduct some exams for jobs like Cook, Stewart, Hygienist and for sailors through MR(Matric Recruit). If you want to enter Navy and serve nation you have to complete your 12th in science stream. After 12th you can appear for NDA(National Defence Academy) entrance exam and it's age limit is 16.5 to 19.5. If you complete your graduation then you can apply for CDS(Combined Defence Services) exam and it's age limit is 19 to 25.

Indian Navy recruits Matric Recruit (MR) at the Class 10th level and Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) and Artificer Apprentices (AA) at the Class 12th level. Candidates must ensure that they satisfy the minimum requirements for Indian Navy MR, SSR and AA posts before they fill the application form.


Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA) and Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for Artificer Apprentice (AA) post and Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) are:

Class 12th (Intermediate / HSC / 10 + 2) examinations conducted by a recognized board or university.

Minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.

Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects with any of Biology / Chemistry / Computer Science as an optional subject in Class 12th.


Indian Navy Matric Recruit (MR) Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for MR vacancy is:

You must have a Matriculation (Class 10th / High School / SSC) certificate issued by a recognised board of education.

Only male candidates are eligible to apply for MR posts.

To join Naval Acadmey candidates have to appear and qualify in NDA/NA examination.

It is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed or pursuing in std 12th from a recognised board in PCM stream. The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years. Only male candidates are eligible to appear in the examination.

It is conducted in two stages - Written and SSB.

You are not eligible for Indian Naval Force after 10th standard.

To join the Indian Naval Force you have to give the NDA entrance exam.

Eligibility criteria of the NDA entrance exam:-

You should be minimum 12th passout.

Age limit is between 16.5 to 19 years.

You should be an unmarried citizen of India.

You cannot join Indian Navy just after passing 10th standard.

After passing 10th standard, you will have to complete 11th and 12th standard with PCM stream (i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). Then, you can apply for NDA Exam through which you can join Indian Naval Academy.

Note that if you are in 12th standard, then also you can apply for NDA exam.

NDA exam is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. You can apply for NDA through this site http://upsconline.nic.in/ after they release applications.

Other ways to join Indian Navy is through CDS Exam. For CDS exam, you will have to complete graduation.

Indian Navy can be joined through NDA after 12th from science stream and there is no requirement of any percentage of marks criteria in any level of education for application to NDA.
National defence Academy entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II to join Indian army Navy and airforce wing of NDA.

You are not eligible now .

first of all you have to complete your 10+2 with PCM combination than you will be eligible for NDA Examination.

If you take JEE Examination after 12th , you will be eligible for CES ( Cadet Entry scheme ).

These are 2 entry scheme to join Indian Naval Force as an officer after 12th.

If you go for graduation in technical stream , there will be some more entry available for you.

I would suggest you to complete 12th PCM with good academic now . There is lot of opportunities waiting for you in near future .

10+2 entry is a technical entry to join Indian Navy. Boys who have passed their class 12th (PCM) with 70% aggregate can apply. Applications will be selected on the basis of your aggregate 10+2 score.
