I have applied for TNPSC Group 4. The notification says that the applicant should have standard iii vision. What does it mean? I have -10 power nearsightedness. Am I eligible or not? I wear Lens. Is that okay?

Standard III vision requirements :

1) 6/9 in both the eyes.

2) Distant Vision should be 6/9 without glasses.

3) Distant Vision with glasses should be 6/12.

4) Nearsightedness should not be greater or less than +5 or -5.

5) Your eyes should be free from colourblindness.

As per the requirements you are not eligible.

I have my eye sight power as -1.25 am I eligible for standard lll vision requirement.

I think you are wrong. I have never seen candidates discriminated based on their eye power. Its the acuity should be 6/9 or 6/6 with or without glass. Please correct me if I am wrong.

My right eye is with perfect power of 6/6 without glass. But my left eye is 6/24 even with the specs. Will I be considered fit for tnpsc recruitment in group I or II posts?

If eyesight is a problem can we apply under visually impaired? Visually impaired students are allowed to wrote with scribe. But for me with lens I am good with writing.. With spectacles also I can manage. If visually impaired students are eligible then people with high power also are eligible right?

TNPSC Group 4 eligibility criteria - Physical Fitness Certificate

Candidates who are selected for appointment to the posts they have applied for will need to produce certificate of physical fitness regarding standard of vision. Candidates having defective vision have to produce certificate regarding eye fitness from qualifies eye specialist. Candidates selected for Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service, Tamil Nadu Judicial Ministerial Service and Tamil Nadu Secretariat Service will also need to produce certificate of physical fitness. Requirements of physical fitness have been provided below.
