Sir/mam,

I am shilpa and i am deeply interested to become a customs officer in future. But i am suffering from myopia and i am using specs. I want to know if i can still become a Custom Officer or not?

You can join if you satisfy the eye sight requirement for the post.

Anyone who wishes to become custom officer has to appear in the civil services exam conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility criteria for Custom Officer :-

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-The candidate should have completed graduation degree with at least 55% of marks from a recognized university.

-The candidate age should be in between 21 years to 30 years.There is relaxation in upper age limit by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Eye-sight (with or without glasses):

Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.

Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.
