Full procedure for appearing in IAS examination
I am a chartered accountant.I want to appear in IAS exam, but i have no idea about its procedure. When will IAS exam held. Pls. tell me the full procedure for appearing in IAS examination and am i eligible for any exemption.

the examination is generally held in the month of may,
the notification will be out by the month of December or first week of January, this year the pattern is going to change so please wait for the official announcements for further information all the best |

dear sir,
you cam be an IAS officer by passing UPSC exam with top all India rank. the advertisement of UPSC exam 2011 for IAS will be published in employment news of November 2010. this exam will be known as CSAT 2011.there will be preliminary exam consisting of two papers one is general studies and other is aptitude test. after passing preliminary exam you will appear for mains exam. in which you have to select two papers among the about 22 subjects prescribed by the UPSC . after passing mains exam you will have to appear for interview.if you will getting all India rank within 50 to 80 then you will be selected for your dream job IAS. all the best. |

this is a one year exam.the following are the procedure.... 1.any graduate can sit in IAS exam. 2.you will have to fillup the form with the selective papers. 3.then you will sit in the preliminary exam of IAS. 4.if you will qualify in the preliminary exam then you will sit in the IAS mains exam.. 5.after clearing the mains ,you will call for interview of about 200 marks. 6.after the interview there will be a merit list .if your name will be there below 100 then you will be the IAS officer.... best of luck....... |

IAS Exam is conducted by UPSC every year. IAS Exam Selection Procedure: You will have to face three stage of the IAS examination, Written Test (Preliminary Exam and Main Exam) nd Personality Interview... IAS Preliminary Exam: Here the exam will be of objective type and is consisted of two papers : first paper will contain the general studies of total 150 marks... and second exam will contain Optional subject selected by candidate total 300 marks......then you will have to sit for the IAS Main Exam,if you qualified in the preliminary examination.. Then it will be followed by Peronslaity Interview students who qualify main test will be called for personality. interview which is the final test of 300 marks. Exam notifications are published in the employment news and other leading newspapers in the month of November / December and exam is conducted in the month of May...... Following are the details of IAS Exam You will need to write civil service exam conducted by UPSC. The minimum academic qualification required to write the exam is a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. You should have attained the age of 21 years and should not be over 30 years. (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC) The application form is available in the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices after the notification by UPSC. The advertisement for the same will be published in all leading newspapers including Employment News. The filled application form should be submitted to Secretary, Union Public Service Commission Dholpur House Shahjahan Road New Delhi - 110069 The selection process includes 3 stages 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview After successful completion of the preliminary exam, you will be eligible to write the main examination which will be followed by interview. first of all you must have a graduation degree, for the appering in the IAS exams, there is two exam,one exam is P.T, that contains the same paper for all the branch, and next exam is mains, in which you have to choose a subjects and the paper will be based on that subjects.after mains the inteview willl be organised. so you have to passed in all the section, and finally merit list will be declayered. |

there are options for you. you have to be graduate in any branch. then you will be eligible for IAS exam. there are some procedure, you have to sit in Preliminary Test, then after short listed you will be selected for actual test. then personal interview, then you will be finally selected. selection process in different services from IAS passing candidates. Top 5- or 100s, no doubt can be caterogorised in the IAS cadre list but rest how can they be chosed as IFS, IES, IPS etc. there ais also one service in Central services as General service what is this and how can the officers will be selected please enlightened me please.

Educational qualification. B.A, B.Sc, B.com, B.E and any Graduation an recognized university. Age Limit General - 21 to 30 years. OBC - Upto 33 years. SC/ST - Upto 35 years. No of Attempts. In order to appear for the IAS exam , the minimum educational qualification required is to be a graduate in any field from any recognized university . Age criteria is between 21-30 years with 5 years relaxation for the SC/ST candidates and 3 years for the OBC categories. First , you need to clear the CSAT before appearing the Mains exam. I am final year BE EEE student. how can I select optional papers in main and preliminary exams? may I select select both two papers(paper 2 in preliminary and papers 6,7,8,9 in main exam)? If there is not possible, in which paper i select graduational paper as optional paper? and also i am interested in mathematics. I want the selection procedure for optional papers?
