Re: Future prospects of doing B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from NITs?
Sure there is good scope in the field of Chemical Engineering especially when done by reputed institutes like NIT. Most of the opportunities will be in manufacturing and pharmaceutical companies. They are also required in the defense sector and atomic centers. They also have the option to enter in to the research field. The level of difficulty of the course depends on the candidates. It depends on the level of interest and also the effort put in to prepare for the course.

Hello.....NIT is a big name so any course done from there gets the double value than from a normal engineering college.
There are quiet a lot of job opportunities after doing chemical engineering in Steel plant,HPCL,NTPC and in other industrial areas. But if you are thinking that chemical engineers get those cool offices as shown in the films then you are wrong because it is very rare.Their maximum work is on field. All the best. |

Re: Future prospects of doing B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from NITs?
Every job is good in its own aspect. It is important that you be good in whatever career you plan to pursue. There are lots of opportunities in the field of chemical engineering. It depends which area you are interested in. If you are interested in the teaching field then you could go for an M.Tech and then appear for the NET exam. If you are interested in research then there is a Junior Research Associates test conducted by UGC. If these do not interest then you can go for either a Government or a Private job. There are lots of opportunities in the pharmaceutical and manufacturing area. Your basic interest should help in selection.
