The applications can be submitted both online and offline but online application is preferred. The fee details are as follows.

Online application Rs. 800/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/PD.

Offline application Rs. 1,000/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PD.

The application form for GATE 2010 will be published from 21st September.
You can get the application form from canera bank and you can get online application form from the official website of the IIT. The last date of form submission will be 27th October 10. You may get your admit card about month of November 10.
The exam will held on 30th January(online) and 13th February(offline) 2010.

The form is available in SBI, you can collect it in your nearest branch of SBI.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national examination which is conducted by eight zones such that One Indian Institute of Science(IISc),Bangalore and the Seven IITs(Bombay,Kharagpur,Kanpur,Guahati,Roorkee,Madra s,Delhi)

In this year 2011,the GATE 2011 is organized by Indian Institute of Technology,Madras

In GATE-2011 you can apply in two ways

1:Online Application Process:
for this you have to register yourself by entering your name, date of birth, password and email id.

After filling up the online application form you can proceed for the payment of application fee through the Payment Gateway (through the Credit or Debit cards or Netbanking through of HDFC or ICICI Bank)or Challan Payment options to SBI bank as well as Indian Bank.

All the application form will be cost Rs.800/- +all service charge Rs.30/-
Total Cost:-Rs. 830/-.

2:Offline Application Process

From Sept 21, 2010 Application Form and Information Brochure is started to sell.

Forms can also be obtained directly from the Zonal GATE offices of IITs and IISB or by sending an application along with a demand draft to the corresponding zonal office requesting for the application form. Candidates also have the option to apply online through the GATE website. The cost of the offline form is Rs. 1000 and for the online application it is Rs. 800 for General and OBC students. For SC/ST/OBC Students the cost of the form/online application is half of that of General and OBC students

Eligibility criteria for GATE exam:
You should have complete graduation degree in Engineering/Architecture/Statistical course.
Appearing for final exam of above mentioned course can also eligible for GATE exam.
