SBI is the leading public sector bank in India which will announce notifications every year for the recruitment of
-Clerical positions
-PO positions

The selection procedure for both these positions is by
-Written Exam
-Interview

The written exam consists of questions from the following categories
-Reasoning
-Quantitative Aptitude
-General Awareness
-General English
-Computer or Marketing knowledge

One should have to score qualifying marks in each of the categories to get through written test.

There is negative marking for the wrong answers and it is 1/4th for all the times.

To the best of my knowledge, whatever you are thinking that is wrong.

One should have to score minimum qualifying marks in English category. Apart from this, whatever the marks that the candidate will get in the English section will also be added to the total number of marks in other categories of the written exam.

Only candidates who have scored high marks in the written exam will get a call for the Interview.

If you are a candidate having interest to appear for this exam.

Take this exam and crack it well.

SBI Syllabus and Paper Pattern 2012: The Topics covers in the Multiple Choice question of the SBI Exam for Clerk 2012 is as Follow

a) Reasoning Ability
b) Quantitative Aptitude
c) General English
d) General Knowledge
e) Marketing Aptitude / Computer Knowledge

Out of all these the English is a Mandatory Subject and total time given for all the Subject is 140 minutes. The Candidate would attempt all the questions in that time period. But attempt carefully because there is also a negative marking for every wrong answer and it is 1/4 th for wrong answers. But note down one thing the if u want to qualify the SBI written exam then u would Pass all the Sections and attain min 40 % marks in all the sections.

*General English will also be one of the section in the bank clerical exams.

Most of the bank exams, they will not put negative marking for this section.

So, if that is there, there is a chance to attempt all the questions from this section.

Anyway as you are telling poor in English, I request you don't use that poor again. It reveals that you are pessimistic about yourself.

So instead of saying that, I am average and I am eager to know, say in this manner.

For English, Comprehensions will be coming.Mostly two passages will be asked and from these passages, you ewill be asked questions.

In order to answer the questions, you should be able to read the passage fast and to understand the essence of the passaged. So I should suggest you develop this habit in your day to day life.

Several questions will have special emphasis on Grammar.
So be good enough in all the Grammatical aspects.

Focus specially on tenses and prepositions. These will be useful in correction of sentences.

Vocabulary is also important. Synonyms will be asked. So try build up your vocabulary as much as you can.

ALL THE BEST..........
