IPS(Indian Police service exams are conducted by UPSC every year.

DETIALS OF UPSC IPS EXAM:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Educational Qualifications for IPS :
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Number of Attempts
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

Physical fitness criteria for IPS-
Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm
Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127.
Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test.

Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.

How to apply UPSC IPS EXAM:
•Apply online by using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in
•Apply offline by purchasing the application form from designated post offices throughout the country.

IPS stands for Indian Police Services.
The appointment in this cadre is done through Indian Civil Service Examination.
The examination is conducted by UPSC once every year.
For this year the Preliminary examination CSE has already been conducted and result is
awaited. You can apply for the exam which would be conducted next year of later.

The schedule of exam is not fixed. The schedule may (may not) vary every year.
UPSC, on its official website displays the schedule of examinations before publishing the
advertisement for the exam.

Refer the UPSC website http://upsc.gov.in/.

The qualification required for the exam is Graduation in any stream.

The age criteria is :

21-30 years for GEN category candidates
21-33 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) category candidates
21-35 years for SC/ST/PH category candidates.

You can refer previous year CSE notification for any further information in this regard.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service. The role of IPS officer is to maintain law and order. Although IPS officers are selected by the Union government, they work closely with the state government.


IPS officers provide security to VIP guests or residence in their region. At the same time IPS also participates in anti naxal or terror operations. However over the years, the involvement of IPS officers is such operations has come down.


To become IPS officer you need to have a bachelor degree. Once you have obtained it, you can apply for the Indian Police service exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.


The notification is issued in November/December. It includes entire procedure to apply for the exam along with the fee and other requirements. If you are meeting the criteria below then please apply for IPS entrance exam to live your dream.



Eligibility

1. You must be of Indian origin.

2. A graduationd degree in any discipline.

3. The age limit is 21 to 30 years.

4. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

5. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation.

For becoming IPS officer you have to crack IAS exam which is conducted by UPSC.

For IAS/IPS exam you should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university.

The age limit for IAS/IPS exam is 21 to 30 years if you are general category.

There is age relaxation available for SC/ST for 5 years and 3 years for OBC.

There is no percentage criteria in Graduation degree means you should be just pass in graduation if you want to apply for IAS/IPS exam.

Hello friend,
IPS is simply known as Indian police service.The IPS exam is conducted by UPSC in every year.

Eligibility:
1.Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University is the minimum qualification to appear the exam.
2.The candidate must have attained the age 21 year on 1st August of the year of examination & must not have attained 30 year of age on that date.
The upper age is relaxed by 3 year for OBC,5 year for SC/ST.The upper age limit is also relaxed in favor of defense services personnel.
3.The candidate should be a citizen of India.

How to apply:
First the candidate has to procure the application form from any of the post office /Head post office spread all over the country & sent the filled application form according to the procedure.
The candidate also apply for the exam through online process.

Exam process:
In month of May/June the aspirant have to take the preliminary exam consist of 2 papers.
This exam is just a qualifying exam.Those who have qualified in the preliminary exam are supposed to take the main exam normally in the month of october.
once you are qualified the test the final stage is interview to test their personality & mental ability.Then the candidate who have secured good rank go for training & posted as per recruitment.

These are the procedure to apply & appear for the IPS exam.
