JBT stands for Junior Basic Teacher's Training course and you should be 10+2 passed from a recognized board of education with at least 50% marks. 5% relaxation in marks is given to reserved category candidates. Age should be between 17 to 28 years. There is age relaxation available for candidates who belong to reserved category.

The selection is based on entrance exam which will have objective type questions related to Hindi, General Ability, English and Numerical Aptitude. You have to score more that 40% marks to pass this exam.

The application for JBT entrance exam usually comes in the month of February/March and exam is conducted in the April of the respective year for Himachal Pradesh JBT. Every state has their own JBT course and dates vary from one state to another.
