Bank P.O or Bank Probationary Officer is an entry-level position in banks.

It is an officer level category .

These officers work as probationer(a sort of training period) for the first some particular

time depending on the bank and gain experience in various type of banking operations like

savings,loans and other banking operations.

Bank Probationary Officers are selected on the basis of a written test and an interview

Every bank has its own exam depending on the vacancies it have.

There are many books available in the market for this exam, you can also join any

coaching center for preparation of these exams.

Dear There,

The acronym for PO is Probationary Officer.

First of all, I would like to tell you that Bank PO examination is conducted by both SBI(State Bank of India) and IBPS(Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) respectively.

For becoming a Bank PO, you will have to give either SBI PO examination or IBPS PO examination.

The selection procedure for the SBI PO examination is mentioned as below:-

* Written examination.

* GD(Group Discussion).

* Personnel interview.

* Medical examination.

The selection procedure for the IBPS PO examination is mentioned as below:-

* Written examination.

* Personnel interview.

* Medical examination.

The eligibility criteria required for the SBI and IBPS PO examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in any discipline from any recognized college or university.

* Percentage criteria is not required.

* Final year contenders are not eligible.

* Age limit:- 21-30 yrs - SBI PO.

* Age limit:- 20-30 yrs - IBPS PO.

* Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC, 5 yrs for SC/ST and 10 yrs for PWD contenders.

* Nationality:- Indian.

According to my knowledge, IBPS PO examination is going to be conducted in the month of May of this year 2013. So, start your preparation and crack this examination.

If, you read three-four hrs for five-six months, then definitely you can crack this examination and get the job.
