How to become an IPS officer after completing engineering degree?
how to become an ips officer after completing engineering degree?
suppose if i complete my engineering degree and then i apply upsc exam is it right or not? please guide me i need your help. |

The appointment in Indian Police Services (IPS) is done through Indian Civil Services
Examination conducted by UPSC. One can apply for the exam after graduation in any discipline. You can definitely apply for the exam after engineering degree. The age limit for the exam is 21-30 years (GEN) 21-33 years (OBC NC-layer) 21-35 years (SC/ST/PH) Whatever you study in graduation (engineering/medical/science/arts), if you want to become an IPS officer after completion of graduation you should appear the exam. The decision of going into Civil Services can't be wrong in any case. If you check previous years record you will find that every year a good no. of engineering qualify the Civil Services Exam. The Civil Services Exam is not an easy exam. It require long term dedication. You should start preparation as early as possible. You can refer CSE notification for syllabus of the exam. (It is attached with this message) You can start preparation from General Studies and then you can prepare for other papers. You must read The Hindu and The Economic Times newspapers and some magazines like Outlook, India Today, Chronicle etc. For GS you should first finish the NCERT books of Science and Social Sciecnes from VIth standard onwards. |

You can become IPS after giving civil service exam conducted by UPSC. EXAM CONDUCTED BY UPSC Eligibity for all exams are: 1.Candidate must have bachlor degree. 2.you can apply after engineering degree as well. 3.age should be in between 21-30. 4.there is age relaxation for OBC-3 years,forSC/ST-5 years. if you clear the UPSC exam then you will be called for the interview then on the basis of written exam and interview you will be selected for the post. Hai, Yes offcourse you are eligible for IPS after completion of any graduation. Eligibility criteria: Candidate should have to complete graduation from any recognised university. Candidate should be a citizen of india. Final year candidate may also eligible and in this percentage is not required. Age limits is 21 years to 30 years, 3 years age relaxation for obc candidates, 5years age relaxation for sc/st candidates. Selection procedure: Preliminary exam, Main exam, Interview. If you want to become an IPS officer you need to crack the IPS exam this exam is conducted by the UPSC once a year.
The qualification required for this exam is degree or equivalent course from a recognized university. IPS(Indian Police Service) exams are conducted by UPSC every year. To become IPS officer you need to complete your studies ,complete Graduation from a recognized university. Minimum qualification required to appear for IPS exams is Graduation from a recognized university. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Educational Qualifications for IPS : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt. Physical fitness criteria for IPS- Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127. Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test. Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels. Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking. IPS - Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year after Graduation Degree.
Hence after completing Engineering Degree, you are eligible to apply for IPS, Civil Service Exam. The eligible candidate being an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness can apply for PS, Civil Service Exam. Apart from this the candidate should have possessed minimum physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT - General/OBC Male-165cm and Female-50cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm. CHEST - Male-84cm and Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. See there is 1 exam conduted by UPSC for the IPS officer's post. There are three stages : 1st is preliminary exam there you have MCQs 2nd is the Mains exam there you have theory type questions 3rd stage is interview if you will all the above steps you can become an IPS officer! All the best!! |
