Graduation in any discipline is the necessary qualification for IPS. Marks obtained at graduation are not a criterion. Selection is made through UPSC conducted prelims and mains exam, physical efficiency test and interview. Questions on Indian Polity, constitution, history, geography, general studies, English language, etc are asked for the test. Applications can be submitted online through the web portal of UPSC.
