-- Every year lacs of candidates try their luck in Civil Service Examination in order to fulfill their dream of becoming IPS or IAS officer. -- To become IPS officer, you have to qualify the Civil Service Examination conducted annually by UPSC. -- Eligibility criteria for Civil Service Examination are: * Candidate should be Indian Citizen. * Candidate must be graduate in any discipline. -- Required age limit for Civil Service Examination are: # 21-30 years for General category # 21-33 years for OBC category # 21-35 years for SC/ST category -- Number of attempts permissible for different categories are: * For General category, only 04 attempts permissible. * For OBC category, only 07 attempts are permissible. * For Sc/ST category, unlimited attempts are permissible. -- Recommended books for exam are: # General Studies for Civil Service Preliminary Examination by TMH # UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Examination by Rakesh Dwivedi. |

If you are interested to became a IPS officer then you have to appear for Civil Service exam which is conducted through UPSC every year. There are some eligibility criteria for this exam which are as follows: *The candidates should be a citizen of India. *The candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognize university. *The age limit is 21 - 30 yrs. There is a relaxation for SC/ST & OBC candidates.
