Re: How can I get step by step solution of the stated problem?
Hi
Its very easy. So lets proceed step by step Let the Length be L and width be W Present Area = L x W when the width is increased by 25%, its new width becomes = 1.25 W Since the length is same = L New area = L x 1.25 W = 1.25 L x W Increased in Area = 1.25 L x W/ L x W = 1.25 = 125 % Increased in area= 125- 100 = 25% All the best |

Q : If the width of a rectangle is increased by 25% while the length remains constant, the resulting area is what percent of the original area?
Let length and width of rectangle as L and W respectively. Area of Rectangle before increasing width : L x W After increasing width 25% it becomes 1.25 W. Area after increasing Width by 25% : L x 1.25 W = 1.25 L x W Hence area is increased by 0.25 that is 25 percent of earlier area. Answer : 25% |
