i am preparing for gate ,but i am not able to concentrate on my studies please help me.
give me ideas to improve my concentration

daily prepare for at least four hours and revise a lot the basics

gate exam is very near,so if you have done reasonable studies then i will advice you to do a revision of what you have studied till now,and that's how you will improve your concentration also.also do some aptitude questions because this year there will be around 15 aptitude questions also.so if you do those questions also then also you can score good percentile.

Why are facing this problem I dont know,may be mentally you are not prepared for appearing for it,or your mind is diverting more towards job or career these may me major reasons for it.Try to specify the reason

However,I will advice you to go for a short holiday refresh your mind and then come back toward your studies.

concentration can only be increased if you really determined that you want to give gate exam for you only........you are studying for others for just proving a point

hey first of all do meditation for atleast 10 mins...take interest in watevr you studying...and be confident.

i think to increase conntration level you should go for YOGA...i dont know what exactly the problem you have...
but u have to really study hard to get IIT

as now very less time is left you can :-
1. Solve previous years’ GATE papers: Solving previous years’ papers gives you a fair idea of what the actual paper would be like. It also brushes up your basics and exposes your ‘areas of improvement’.

2. Solve test papers: Solve as many test papers as possible. This actually is the best way to keep improving as you prepare for GATE.

3. Analyze : Analyzing your test results is a very important part of taking the test. If you do not analyze, the test does not add value. You should minutely analyze and define as to where you could have scored more; analyze your accuracy rates in various topics and maintain a topic wise data sheet which lists your performance topic wise for different test papers.

4. Take up a Target which gives you your percentile and All India Rank : This is very important to avoid the “frog in the pond” syndrome. Students tend to take it easy if they attain a high score in the tests. However, GATE is an exam in which people are selected on their relative scores. So even if you have scored 95% it does not essentially translate to a percentile of 95. so prepare hard for the exam.....

i suggest you to solve as many solved and unsolved question paper you can do by doing this you will get an idea about how you have to answer and according you can do your time management.

do not mug things up try to understand them and just imply since less time is left just go through year papers this might boost you up a little bit

if you really want to crack gate just avoid everything disttracts you.reduce your sleeping and leisure hours and make a time table
try to stick with it and be determined and firm with your decision ok dear

dont mess up your studies.....you must concentrate on whatever you study. doesnt matter how much hour you study....but when you study you must simply conctrate on it and go into depth knowledge and understand it......

now the gate exam for this year is already over by 14 feb,2010.
so for the next gate exam,you have too much time,
so in the beginin you should clear you all the basic of the subject.
then go through deeply.
please compete each chapter which is mention in the syllabus,
do not left any chapter,
practice as you can.

as the exam is over this year and if you have nopt got good score this year and going for long term
then it will be better for you to join some coaching institutes like ace academy,
also you should learn meditation,it really helps in improving your concentration,
also dont get tensed thinking about the exam,

the pattern was of last types of years.
try to concentrate on your capability,you will suceed.

you must concentrate on whatever you study. does not matter how much hour you study but when you study you must simply concentrate on it and go into depth knowledge and understand it.refresh your mind and do yoga, this will help you concentrate,in your study and its better to take coaching institute help to get good results in short time.

hii friend its all about you have some other tension ...you can concentrate if you fix someting to achieve in your mind........just relax for sometime forgot all the stufs in your mind...then start preparing orelse join some coaching centres to gate preparation

the main way to qualify in gate is to do lots of hard work,
practice as many problems as possible,'
attempt as many model tests as possible
and most of all important is to concentrate on basics

For GATE exam you should be through of basic concepts about the subject that you are going to take for the exam you not need to strain too much it is enough to prepare a little daily but you should from the begining of your UG degree so that your daily work cannot be affected.

I think if your heart is not permitting you then you should not go for it, try to do something what you are eager to do, don't create pressure on you .There are lots courses leaving GATE.

1:Maintain a time table to allow yourself to devote minimum 6-8hrs per day for the exam.

2:Then try to collect the base or main material of any subject.

3:.Study the Syllabus

4:Try to solve the Previous questions papers

5:Try to Solve more and more problems,

6:Try to discover more and more new own tricks by which you can easily solve any problem in a less time .

7:You can go for self tests.

GATE is an examination conducted by the association of 7 IITs and the IISc, bangalore.

They conduct it for the selection of students for their post graduation level.

Based on your score, the institutes that you can get admitted into are:-

1. IITs

2. IISc

3. NITs

4. Other premier colleges including government colleges.



ELGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. B.Tech pass-out or 4th year.

2. Masters in any branch of science, Maths, Statistics, computer applications.

3. Post Diploma/ Post B.Sc


APPLYING:-

The gate exam is applied online, by which you can get a challan and a form.
you have to pay the required fees and send it along the printed form.


PREPARATION :-

You can either prepare for the exam yourself, or approach a coaching institute.

I guess this would be sufficient. and once you start your preparation, hang onto it.
try your level best. atleast 3 months preparation would be necessary.
