Sir, i am a student of BA.(1st yr).I have dream that one day i will a lieutenant of indian army.I can do evrything for my army & my cuntry.Becouse i love army and my cuntry.I like their life style,their weapons,their uniform.I think 'IT'S A MAN WORK'.

i am bcom hons student from DU, i wish to serve indian army ,kindly advise the courses & its available places.

Indian Military Academy

Union Public Service Commission conducts Combined Defence Services exam for recruitment of officers for three different Indian Defence wings and these are for Indian Military Academy(IMA),Indian Naval Academy and for Indian Air-Force Academy.For appearing in UPSC CDS Exam for IMA wing you should be a Citizen of India.

Eligibility Criteria required to appear for Indian Military Academy Forces :

~Academic Qualification :-
-->>Your minimum educational qualification should be Bachelor degree pass out in any discipline from a recognized university.

~Age Required :-
-->>Your minimum age should be 19 years.
-->>Your age should not be above 24 years.

~Selection Process :-

1. Written test (Objective Type).
2. Group Discussion and Physical Efficiency Test.
3. Personal Interview.

Written test will include questions from the following sections :-

1 . English language and Comprehension - 100 Marks.

2 . General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 100 Marks.

3 . Elementary Mathematics - 100 marks.

Total number of questions from English Language and Comprehension as well as from General Knowledge and Current Affairs will be 120 and Total number of questions from Elementary Mathematics will be 100 questions.Total duration of written exam will be 3 hours.

You have to apply for the UPSC CDS exams
CDS exams are conducted by UPSC two times each year

Eligibilty to apply for the CDS exams is:

Education:
Indian Military Academy (IMA) - Graduation Pass in any Stream
Officers Training Academy (OTA) - Graduation Pass in any Stream
Indian Airforce- Graduation Pass with Physics and Mathematics as subjects in class 12th or BE/BTECH
Indian Navy - BE/BTECH


AGE LIMITS-
IMA- Between 19- 24 years
OTA Between 19- 25 years
NAVY - Between 19- 22 years
AIR FORCE - Between 19- 23 years

In order to be placed in IMA, you should have to crack the following selection procedure.

CDS Exam
Interview

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Exam. This Exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice a year to recruit the candidates into following defence services
Indian Military Academy
Indian Naval Academy
Indian Air Force Academy
Officers Training Academy

The required academic qualification and age criteria will be different for each of these defence wings.

Her is the eligibility criteria to apply for IMA.

You should have completed your Graduation with any of the stream.
You should be in the age group of 19-24 years.
You should be a citizen of India.
Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation also can apply for this Exam.

As you are in the 1st year of BA course, you can apply for this Exam once you have done with the course.

So I suggest you to carry out preparation for this exam for these 2 years.

Better to join in a Coaching Institute to make your preparation too easy.
