Engineering graduates in streams like Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Food Technology and Mechanical Engineering can apply for Technical Graduate Course (TGC) in IMA till December 14, 2012. Married/unmarried male candidates below 27 years can apply for permanent commission in Indian Army. Selected candidates after Psychological Aptitude Test and interview will have to undergo probation training for 1 year. Upon completion of training process, they will be granted with permanent commission in the rank of Lt.

Eligibility Requirements for Engineers to join Indian Military Academy (IMA)

Eligible candidate must be an Indian citizen, with an engineering degree from a recognized institute in any of the following streams.

• Computer Science & Engineering
• Construction Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics & Communication Engineering

• Telecommunication Engineering

Other than this, M.Sc holders in Computer Science and B.Arch graduates can also apply.  Candidates who have completed the required qualification or those who are in the final year are eligible. They are liable to submit the proof of qualifying degree at the time of interview. Final year students have the provision to extend this date up to 12 weeks from the date of joining. Age of the candidate must fall within the limits of 20 and 27 years.

Male candidates who are married/unmarried can apply for TGC at IMA. But during probation period, they are neither allowed to marry nor to stay with family.

Selection Procedure for Engineers in Indian Military Academy (IMA)

Selection of eligible candidates is done through a two stage selection process, Psychological Aptitude Test and interview. Short listed candidates after initial checking of applications at Directorate of General Recruiting will be considered for Psychological Aptitude Test. Next level is personal interview. Those who qualify this level will have to undergo the physical medical test conducted by a Board of Service Medical Officers.

Application Procedure for Engineers to join Indian Military Academy (IMA)

Applications can be sent online via the official web portal of Indian Army. After submitting the application form, a print out copy of the submitted application form must be send to the address of the Directorate General of Recruiting. This needs to be sent in registered post along with attested copies of 10th, 12th and degree level mark sheets. Another copy of the print out application form must be brought to the selection center, if the candidate is selected in the screening process.
