How to join Income Tax Department having B.Com?
I have completed my B.Com. Can I join Income Tax Department on the basis of B.Com only? Do I need to appear for entrance? Or, do I need to study for any further higher degrees?

If you wish to join the Indian revenue service that is Income Tax Department then you should apply for the Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC every year. By writing civil services examination and opting Indian revenue services you can join Income Tax Department.

If you wish to join the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), then you should apply for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by UPSC every year. The minimum qualification required for applying for CSE is graduation from a recognised University.

To become an I.R.S Officer you have to appear and qualify in UPSC examination.
The examination is conducted in three stages. The three stages of examination are :- Preliminary. Mains. Interview. The required minimum qualification is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university. The age limit is 21-32 years. So, you need to do preparation for examination and after qualifying in all the stages will become eligible for final selection. |

There are two options for you to join Indian Income Tax Department after Bachelor of Commerce course.
1. For Sub Inspector level posts, you can apply for SSC CGL exam. 2. For Group A officer, you need to apply for Civil Services exam and join Indian Revenue Services. For both exams, minimum academic qualification required is bachelor's degree. You can apply for both after B.Com course. |

You are eligible to join Income tax as an officer.
Candidates have to appear and qualify in all three stages of Civil Service Examination for final selection. The age limit is 21-32 years with relaxation for reserved category. So, you have to appear and qualify in all three stages for final selection. You do not need to pursue higher degree from recruitment as an officer. |

Income Tax Officer Exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit the Income Tax Officer.
Those candidate have completed graduation degree from recognized university are eligible for INCOME TAX OFFICER exam. To become Income Tax officer you have to pass the Civil Services Exam conducted by the Union Public. Also your age should be in between 18 years to 25 years. The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. The examination is conduct two ways (i) Written examination (ii) Interview for Personality Test for such candidates as may qualify in the written test. S.
