You are doing B.Tech of BE in Mechanical engineering then you are applicable for AFCAT Exam but if you are in final student then you are applicable for AFCATE exam.

Final year student and pass out candidate can apply here.You can join in Indian Air Force through AFCAT Exam.the details of this exam is given below.

Educational Qualification for AFCAT Exam

1.Flying branch :-

You must have graduation degree and your 12th standard subjects are Physics and Mathematics .

Your are should be in between 19-23 years.

2.Technical branch:-

If you have completed graduation degree then you are applicable.

Your are should be in between 18-28 years.

3.Ground duty branch:-

You have a graduation Deedee in any trade.

Your are should be in between 20-27 years.

If your Interested to apply for Airforce Academy After Completing B.Tech Course ,than you have to apply for CDS Examination which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission .

Note :- You should have Any arrears in Previous as well as Present semester than Only your eligible for this CDS Examination .

CDS ie :- Combined Defence Services . The Examination is conducted by UPSC for Every twice year .

Bachelor degree is the Basic Academic Qualification to appear in this CDS Examination .

Your Interested to apply for Airforce Academy , So you should Complete graduation in science / Engineering Course than Only your eligible for Airforce Academy .

Final Year candidate may also eligible to apply for this Examination . It's Necessary that you should studied physics /chemistry/ biology /mathematics as main subject .

Aspirant age should be 19 years to 23 years . There is No Upper Relaxation for both the SC/ST candidates and obc candidates

Aspirant should be Unmarried Male candidate . Please Note that Female and Married Male candidates are not eligible for this Examination .

Soon after the completion of your Mechanical Engineering, you are eligible to join Indian Air Force.

Here is the complete information regarding that.

The candidates have to crack CDS (Combined Defence Services) Exam being conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

The selection procedure would involve
Written Exam
Interview

This is the common written exam for the candidates to be placed in various Defence services like
Indian Military Academy
Indian Naval Academy
Air Force Academy
Officers Training Academy.

Here is the eligibility criteria for CDS Exam.

Candidates should have completed Graduation with any of the stream but it is mandatory that the candidates should have gone through Mathematics and Physics as compulsory at 10+2 level.

Even the candidates who have completed Graduation in Engineering are eligible to apply.

The required age criteria should be 19-22 years.

There is no relaxation in upper age limit for the candidates of any category.

As per academic qualification you are eligible. If you have above mentioned age criteria, then I suggest you to apply for this Exam.

For this academic year, CDS I Exam was over.

CDS II Exam notification will be released on 19-07-2014.
