Sir, I am a student of Electronics & Communication Polytechnic. I want to join Indian Army. Please tell me the basic procedure and other requirements to join Army. Any entrance requirement?

As you have completed Diploma course, so after this you will have to complete graduation by taking lateral entry admission.

Then, in the final year of graduation, or after completing it, you can apply for CDS exam.

CDS (Combined Defence Services) exam is conducted by UPSC every year twice for recruitment to Army, Naval, Air force, OTA academies.

For joining Indian Military Academy (IMA) through CDS, your age must be between 19-24 years and unmarried.

Following stages will be there to crack CDS Exam:

• Written Test
• SSB Interview (will include Running, Pushups, Chin ups, Rope Climbing, Height Weight standards, etc.)
