wheather we need to obtain rank in GATE or TANCET to join in MS university tirunelveli for M.tech CS & IT

Hi,
The MS university in Tirunelveli provides M.E. in computer science and engineering and Mtech in computers and information technology.
For M.E. in the above mentioned, the eligibility criteria is as follows:
You should be a B.E. or Btech in any field of engineering with a minimum marks of 55%
For Mtech in computers and information technology, the eligibility criteria is as follows:
1. The candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in any field of engineering
2. The candidate can also hold a MSc degree in computer science or information technology or any such theoretical course or MCA for the same with a good background in information technology.
3. Candidates having an appropriate GATE score in the above subject is eligible.
4. Candidates who don't take the GATE exam will have to appear for the Tamil Nadu common entrance test (TANCET) to apply for the same. Based on the scores, selection will be done.
A post graduate scholarship of Rs. 5,000 is provided to GATE qualified candidates.
