Cat examination is one of the toughest examination in the world.To crack the examination you should have great dedication.

First of all you follow good books to prepare for the cat examination.There are many books are available in the market.

Go through the syllabus thoroughly and find your week points and try to remove them.

Follow the pattern of the examination and practice the cat papers as much as you can.You can solve previous years question papers.Try to solve the papers with in the stipulated time.

Most important thing work on your speed.

in order to prepare for CAT,your vocabulary should be very strong and you should be good at basic maths..solve the past papers of CAT,MAT,XAT,etc..you can download all the ebooks,sample papers and past papers of all the MBA entrance exams from this site..

You can prepare for CAt exam without coaching. just you have to devote at least 2 hours daily for a year for solving aptitude questions.
As CAT is a test with no predefined syllabus, however past trends suggest that CAT tests in general aptitude including Verbal Ability (English), Quant Ability (Mathematics), Logical Resoning (LR) and Data Interpretation (DI) skills.
Try improving your speed of solving. This is what that actuallyt matters for this exam.
