As you don't know the basic eligibility criteria for this I will try to explain the basic eligibility criteria require for this The main basic eligibility criteria for Civils Service Examination ->Candidate must have 21 years of age ->Candidate must complete at least degree from a recognized Indian University this is all about the basic eligibility criteria of CSE As per your qualification i.e., M.Tech (5Years) course You will be eligible for the exam which will be conducted by UPSC Delhi You can go through the examination code for Civil Service Examination in the official website of UPSC i.e. www.upsc.gov.in The exam will be conducted by UPSC this exam is conducted every year with the name of Civil service examination. For this exam there will be a huge competition so you have to be well prepared to face the examination the exam is conducted in the three stage format ->CSAT(Preliminary) ->Mains ->Interview In this way the exam will be go on for a year duration till you complete the full procedure but one note that if you fail in any of the stage you have to appear again from the first so it is the game with a little risk hope you will clear in your first attempt only all the best Regards ~aditya~ |

Re: How should I study for IAS exam while studying M.Tech(5 years)?
hi friend,
i m sorry to say this....better do any one or concentrate either in your m.tech or in ias because both are not so easy...and also for applying for ias there are some age limits, so you 've to come within the completion of particular age limit. so no problem that you are interested in ias then the thing is side by side you concentrate in ias syllabus and when you are at the final year attend the exam and clear it.and after the completion of prelims you may finish your m.tech then you proceed for mains....just say yourself nothing is impossible in this world... all the best |

Hi
For IAS, you should meet the following eligibility criteria You should be Indian You should be graduate from recognized collelge your age should be between 21 - 30 year. Since you are already doing your MTech, it would be difficult for you to devote time. It would be better if you can join any good coaching classes. Apart from coaching try to devote atleast 3 hours for study All the best |

Quote:
The following stages needs to be crossed in order to become an IAS officer:- 1. Civil Services - Preliminary Examination - Objective Type (Qualifier) 2. Civil Services - Main Examination - Written Test 3. Interview / Personality Test Tentative Dates:- => Preliminary Examination: May-June => Main Examination: October-November If you wish to give this examination then you need to be a graduate first. That is the basic qualification required for this exam. The degree can be attained in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university. This exam can also be given by the final year students. They will be given provisional admission. If you get selected for the main examination then you need to have passed the qualifying exam by then because you will have to show the mark sheets then. Age should not be lower than 21 years when applying for this exam and it should not exceed the upper age limit of 30 years either. There is upper age limit relaxation for the following candidates:- 1. SC/ST Candidates: 5 years 2. OBC Candidates: 3 years 3. PWD Candidates: 10 years The preliminary exam comprises of two papers mainly. For each paper 200 marks have been allotted and for completing each paper you will get two hours. Objective questions will be asked and the paper will be set in both Hindi and english. The preliminary exam is only used as a qualifying exam to shortlist candidates for the main examination. Its usage is not much. For its marks wont be added when determining the final order of merit. The exam that follows the prelim exam is the Main Examination. This exam consists of nine papers and in this exam mostly essay type questions will be asked. There are a few optional papers in this exam as well and you will get a list of optional subjects to choose from. Total marks allotted for this exam is 2025 marks out of which for interview session 275 marks have been allotted. Hope this helps :-> :-> |
