hi i need old gate papers , and a guidelines for preparation..........

i give you some preparation tips,

initially you should have very clear knowledge about the syllabus.
then concentrate on theory units.....so that you have direct questions you can answer easily.
after that go for units that you studied well during your academic year.
then go for problematic units........study well the units you feel quite easy.
at last cover the rest of the syllabus....dont put more effort....no tensed...
avoid last minute preparation....
revise the syllabus for one month before the exam.......

you did not mention the specific branch or stream for which you require GATE previous years.

Next time be clear in your question and anyway here i am providing you the some GATE previous years.

Go through them and make full use of them.

As far as preparation is concerned, i am giving some guidelines which will be helpful for you.

-Prepare a time table for yourself to complete the syllabus in time, what subjects to study and when to study.

-Give priority to the subjects on the basis of whether you feel that subject as easy or difficult one.

-Go through previous year question papers

-Once you complete a topic, practice some questions from that topic by going through GATE questions and answers book

I feel the official website of IIT Madras, http://gate.iitm.ac.in/gateqps.php, is the best source to download GATE Examination Question Papers [Previous four Years]. Another website http://www.questionpapers.net.in/ is a good one too to download gate question paeprs. Most of the questions are in html format too. That is the best part of it.
